The Little Things

The past week and a half, I've had a lot of time to just think. I've always been fine with traveling and being away from home... but when I'm sick- it all goes out the window. I don't really know why, but it does.
So I've been sick with this virus thing..which got me thinking about the little things I miss about home.

Things like driving down Connecticut to 44th street, windows down country music up. pizza nights. any given night, us girls being at everyone's house. sonic runs with the best friend. redbox nights. taking walks with my brother and listening to him talk. woody's barbeque. Little things like that.

I usually try not to dwell on those things for too long, before a big surge of homesickness sweeps in. (don't know if that's working.. here I am writing a blog about it.)

May 22nd 2011 made me thankful for my life, and being out of the country for 7 months afterwards has made me realize even more how much Joplin is home to me.
Granted, Joplin isn't the same as it was... but I'm excited to see how far it's come when I get back. In a way, I think I'm ready. But for now... Chile is where the Lord has placed me. I'll keep on enjoying serving in a beautiful country with beautiful people, even when things get tough.
