New Discoveries

Actually.. it's a duo. But they're ridiculously good. If you haven't discovered The Civil Wars yet, please do. Amazing.

Music is a big part of my life- worship music calms me down when things aren't easy, jazz helps me when I fly, etc. 
So when  I discovered them the other day, and I also found out that you can download one of their albums for free- I was a little bit excited. Introduce me to great new bands and give me free music- I am one happy girl. 


Later that night I was excitedly telling one of my friends about my recent discovery, because free downloadable albums are pretty rare. 


But even later that night, I thought to myself.. "Becky... when was the last time you were that persistent about telling someone about His love?"


um.. good question. 


So that got me thinking some more... 


A lot of the times, I think of excuses of as to why I can't open my heart to people more... maybe I don't know them that well, or I don't know how to say it spanish yet. But really, while being excited about a free cd isn't a bad thing, it's just a thing of this world. Because the truth of the matter is.. His love, His mercy, His faithfulness, and His redemption, is so much better. So today I am thankful that I have a relationship with a God who is patiently waiting on me to be reunited with Him, and is still right by my side when I get excited over silly things that don't even compare to His great things I should be talking about.
